You the can just imagine how I’m feeling right now!
Today I woke up to very exciting news, being nominated for two awards. It’s the first time since I started blogging sometimes last year, that someone thought of my blog in such high regard. And not just one nomination, two! I’m humbled.
I will start with the first one, Dear Kitty’s, Awesome Blogger Award nomination which is in form of questions I’m supposed to answer and then to A Guy called Bloke’s, Blogger Appreciation Award which comes with rules one is supposed to follow.
a) Awesome Blogger Award
Before I start answering the questions, I will first take this opportunity to just thank Dear Kitty for considering Madekesiworld and also to say I really appreciate what you do. In one way or another, you’re making the world a better place. I’m humbled and wish the best of this year. You can check out her blog through the above link, sure will learn something, especially when it comes to taking care of animals, birds and insects.
1. What is the latest book you’re reading and are you enjoying it?
Currently I’m not reading any book but beginning February I will be getting a new read to start off my year. Any recommendations especially from those book bloggers will be appreciated.
2. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Other?
Instagram –I prefer it over the other two when it comes to sharing my poetry. @madekesiworld
3. What is your favorite word and why?
Love –It’s an overused word and yet most misunderstood word.
4. Dogs or Cats?
Dogs –I love dogs. Real dogs, forget those tiny animals that look like cats. Read my post, Rest in peace Polisi.
5. Is there any song that holds any special meaning to you?
Not really but I Jungle by Drake. The song brings tears in my eyes in a way that I can’t explain. It makes wanna write poetry.
6. What do you feel strongly about?
First, fighting TRIBALISM that’s a thorn in the flesh in Kenya currently. Just like France’s W. Harper who stood up against slavery in the US long time ago, I will fight against this too through my blog. Second is HIV. Most people have shut up on it but it’s still a big issue in our African society. Look at my recent posts such as Fish for Sex.
7. If you could grant one person in your life one wish, what would it be?
Many more years to my mother, Bruna (can’t believe I mentioned her). I made her a promise that I intend to keep. I’m so proud of her. She raised me and my siblings to be who we’re today, single-handedly. If you happen to follow my blog, by now you might have noticed in my posts I mention her a lot.
8. What is your favorite film?
Act of valor –If I have to mention TV series, Game of Thrones any day.
9. What is your favorite book?
The River and the Source — A novel by the late Margret Ogola. So far read it twice and I will read it again.
10. Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions?
Not really, just promised myself to do more for my blog especially in reaching out to my fellow Kenyans. A prophet has to be accepted by his countrymen. Hahahaha… And to stop falling for bad girls. On a light note though.
My nominees are lucky since I will be nominating you for both awards that I was nominated, not to save myself the trouble of writing to separate posts, but because you truly deserve it. The list will come at the end of this post. Just wish I could nominate all of you because each time I drop by your different blogs, can’t help but admire the great job you guys are doing.
b) Blogger Appreciation Award
Now to the second nomination.
Thank the blogger who Nominated you and provide a link back to their site. Write a paragraph of something positive about yourself. Nominate and notify as many bloggers as you wish. Use the award image.
1.Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their site:
I take this opportunity to show my gratitude to A Guy Called Bloke for nominating me for this award. It’s an honor. To say something about him, he’s an awesome blogger doing a fantastic work and personally I’ve learn’t so much from his work. As the opening line to his blog says, “We all have a story to tell”, and I completely agree with him. Let me not spoil the fun for you, just check out his blog, I’m positive you will like it.
2. Write a paragraph of something positive about yourself:
I refer to myself as a versatile writer. I can write poetry and I can write as well and that’s why my blog has different categories like “twisted poetry” that basically handles anything to do with my poetry and other categories like “life happenings” and “political” where I basically write articles that I want almost everyone to read and understand. Read No longer followers or subscribers, just family.
I’m still a student but in my final year, doing something so different from writing but at the end of the day hope it will all inter-marry.
3.Nominate and notify as many bloggers as you wish:
6. Life lessons
10. Kitty Minaj
11. You Can Do It
